Frequently Asked Questions

How far can you get on the inland waterways

Well, in your own boat you can go as far north as Tewitfield via the Lancaster Canal or Ripon via the river Ouse and as far south as Godalming via the River Wey, you can go into Wales, onto the Cambridge Fens and loads of areas in between, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Stoke on Trent, Birmingham, Peterborough, Nottingham, Gloucester, Devizes and London

Is it cold on a Narrowboat in the winter

No! Our boat has a multi fuel stove and we often sit there in the winter with the door open because it's too hot, stoke it up at night and you're warm through till morning. A lot of modern narrowboats have central heating as well, usually diesel powered with radiators.
